Who Are We?

Experienced Beta Reading

Nicholas G. Simsion was born in Washington D.C., the fourth of six children. He and his military family moved around a lot, living in eight different houses by the time he left for college at age seventeen. Although he has no family still living in Fallon, Nevada, he still considers that little oasis in the desert to be his childhood hometown.

Nicholas is an award-winning author whose novel entitled "Sparks the Matchmaker" became an instant success. His second book of that series is nearly complete and will be released any day now. When Nicholas isn't writing, he's captain of a softball team, singer/guitar player for a band he formed with his three brothers, watching baseball, and playing disc golf. Above all, he loves spending time with his wife and two kids. Nicholas and his family live in Meridian, Idaho.

Lori Folkman has been creating stories since her childhood, back when she would play hooky from school to continue the drama that was unfolding in Barbieland (aka Lori’s bedroom). Her Donny Osmond doll typically played the romantic lead. Besides playing with her imaginary friends, Lori also enjoys reading, watching movies, exploring Montana’s back roads, and spending summers at the lake. She lives in Northwest Montana with her husband and five children.

What began as an effort to perfect her writing skills, Lori realized that critiquing other manuscripts was not a chore, but a passion. After spending years as part of various on-line critique groups working with both established and aspiring authors, she is extending her beta-reading circle beyond friends and on-line colleagues to be a part of Inky's Nest editorial staff.

She is the author of three published novels and a newly released novella. Find out more at lorifolkman.com.

Jennifer Lovell is a work-from-home mother of four beautiful children. She has lived all over the country, finally settling with her music-professor husband in Pennsylvania. She currently teaches private music lessons, performs as a singer locally, and enjoys her hobbies of exercise and crafting, along with her freelance editing work.

In college, Jennifer first discovered her love for editing while developing her foreign language skills, as part of her requirements for her Bachelor of Music degree. In the late 1990s, she served for eighteen months as a missionary for her church in Spain. She loved helping others learn a second language (whether it was English or Spanish) and always got excited at the opportunity to translate and proofread written works.

She began editing at a professional level for the award-winning author, Russell Elkins. She has written a memoir about her dating years that she's excited to share with others. She enjoys editing non-fiction and fiction books, with her favorite books always being those of any genre written by her family and friends.
